Sr. Therese Connor, RDC

Sister Therese A. Connor, RDC, a member of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, a field liaison project manager for Self Help Community Services, Bronx, NY, for over 12 years, died on April 29, at Good Counsel Convent. Sister Therese was 73. She was born on September 18, 1928 in Yonkers, NY, the daughter of William E. and Catherine Boyle Connor. Sr. Therese entered the Divine Compassion congregation on August 15, 1950.

Sr. Mary Alberta Barry, RDC

Sr. Mary Alberta Barry, RDC

Sister Mary Alberta Barry, RDC, a member of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, a former principal of the Academy of Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in White Plains, died on March 20, 2002 at Good Counsel Convent. Sister Mary Alberta was 87. She was born June 8, 1914 in Staten Island, New York, the daughter of Joseph N. and Mary McIntyre Barry. Sr. Mary Alberta entered the Divine Compassion congregation on August 15, 1932. She received a B.A. degree in Mathematics from Good Counsel College and continued her studies at Fordham University for an M.A. degree in Mathematics.

Sr. Mary Bertrand Denzlinger, RDC

Sister Mary Bertrand Denzlinger, RDC, a member of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion at Good Counsel Convent in White Plains, died on March 1, 2002 at Good Counsel. She was born on July 25, 1911 in Tivoli, New York, the daughter of William and Margaret McCabe Denzlinger. Sister Mary Bertrand entered the Sisters of the Divine Compassion on August 15, 1929, having attended St. Peter's Elementary School, Poughkeepsie, New York and Good Counsel Academy High School in White Plains. She received a B.S. degree from Good Counsel College.

Sr. Theresa Brady, RDC

Sister Mary Theresa Brady, RDC, a member of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion and former Professor of English at Good Cousel College and Pace University, died on February 15, 2002 at Good Counsel Convent in White Plains. Sister Mary Teresa was 79. She was born May 24, 1922 in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Edward J. and Evelyn Schirmer Brady. Sr. Mary Teresa entered the Divine Compassion congregation at Good Counsel September 12, 1943 after her graduation from Good Counsel College with a BA degree summa cum laude.

Mother Mary Ethelburge Adames

Mother Mary Ethelburge Adames, a member of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, died peacefully on July 15, 2001 at Good Counsel Convent. She was born on November 29, 1905 in Guernsey, Channel Islands, the daughter of John and Adah Adames. Mother Ethelburge entered the Sisters of the Divine Compassion in 1922 and professed her final vows in 1930. She graduated from Good Counsel College in 1944 with a B.S. degree in Biology.

Sr. Celine Morris, RDC

Sister Mary Celine Morris, RDC, a member of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion at Good Counsel Convent in White Plains died suddenly on April 27, 2001 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born October 2, 1931 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Hastings A. Morris and Mary Reilly Morris. Sister Mary Celine entered the Sisters of the Divine Compassion on August 15, 1953 after her graduation from Good Counsel College with a B.A. degree in English. She received a B.S.M. degree from Manhattanville College in 1968. She also studied music at New York University. Sr.

Sr. Constance Conroy, RDC

Sister Constance Conroy, RDC, a former principal of the Academy of Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in White Plains, died February 16, 2001 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was 75, having served as a Mathematics and Science teacher of young people for more than 50 years. Born in White Plains in 1925, her parents were Mary T. Hannon Conroy and Thomas R. Conroy. Sister Constance entered the Divine Compassion congregation at Good Counsel on September 8, 1945. She received the BS Degree from the former Good Counsel College and an MST in Science and Mathematics from Fordham University.

Sr. Mary Basil Hayes, RDC

Sister Mary Basil Hayes, RDC, former professor and administrator at Good Counsel College and the College of White Plains died on Friday, September 22, 2000 in the Good Counsel Infirmary in White Plains. She was 98. Sister was born in New York, NY, December 11, 1901, the daughter of Patrick and Margaret Blake Hayes. She attended Good Counsel Academy Elementary and High School and received the BS degree from Good Counsel College, the MA and Ph.D. from Fordham University.

Sr. Mary Josepha O’Reilly, RDC

Sr. Mary Josepha O’Reilly, RDC, former teacher in the schools staffed by the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, died on August 17, 2000 in St. Agnes Hospital. She was 92.

Sister was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 20, 1908, the daughter of Joseph J. and Julia E. O’Reilly. She attended Good Counsel Elementary and Good Counsel High School. Sister received a BA degree from Good Counsel College, White Plains and MS degree from Hunter College, NY.

Catherine Keogan, RDC

Sr. Catherine Keogan, RDC

Sr. Catherine Keogan, RDC, a faculty member at Saint Anthony School in West Harrison, NY, died on Wednesday, February 23, 2000. She was 63. Sister was born in Bronx, NY, the daughter of John P. and Bridget Leonard Keogan, both deceased. She attended Our Lady of Mercy, Port Chester, and Good Counsel Academy in White Plains and received a BA degree in English from Good Cousel College and an MS in Math Education from Saint Joseph's College in West Hartford, CT.
