Sr. Susan Becker

Third Councilor

This is Sr. Susan Becker’s first term on the Congregational Leadership Team. Raised in Mamaroneck, Sister is a proud graduate of Good Counsel Academy and Good Counsel College. Sr. Susan earned Master’s Degrees in English at SUNY Cortland and Social Work and Public Administration from Syracuse University. Sister also has a certificate in Spiritual Direction.

Sr. Susan began her ministry life at St. John the Evangelist School in Mahopac, and then went on to teach at St. Anthony’s in West Harrison.  Following a career switch, Sr. Susan worked at Catholic Charities in White Plains as a staff social worker. Over the years, Sister held the positions of Director of Catholic Charities in Cortland County, Director of the Onondaga Council on Alcoholism, staff social worker and then Director of the Substance Abuse unit at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Harrison, private practice psychotherapist, as well as Chaplain for Pace University. Sister has also served the RDC Community in a variety of positions, including vocation contact person, Coordinator of Mission and Charism, Co-Director of the RDC Spirituality Center, Coordinator of RDC Companions and Associates and Administrator of the RDC Compassion Speakers Series program.
