Sr. Laura Donovan

President

Sr. Laura Donovan is serving her second term as President for the Sisters of the Divine Compassion.  She has been engaged in the Sisters’ mission and educational ministries for almost 50 years. Sr. Laura was born in Geneva, NY. Her family later moved to White Plains where she now resides at Our Lady of Sorrows Convent. Her education and professional experience include a B.S. in Science from Good Counsel College/College of White Plains, an M.S. in Religious Education/Pastoral Studies from Loyola University, Chicago, an M.S. in Secondary School Science from Villanova University in PA, and a professional diploma in School Administration and Supervision, grades 7 – 12, from Manhattan College. Sr. Laura also holds New York State Certification in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, General Science, and Secondary School Administration. A graduate of Good Counsel Academy and Good Counsel College/College of White Plains, Sr. Laura's ministry in education spans five decades. Sister was a teacher, Science Department Chairperson, Dean of Students at Preston High School in the Bronx and Good Counsel Academy, as well as Principal of Good Counsel Academy.
