Sr. Carol Peterson

First Councilor

This is Sr. Carol’s second term on the Leadership Team, and 36th year in the RDC Community.  Sr. Carol was born in Peekskill, NY, and raised in Putnam Valley, NY. She attended John F. Kennedy High School and graduated from SUNY at Oneonta, where she majored in Education and English. Sr. Carol earned Masters Degrees from Fordham and Pace Universities in Social Work and Education Administration. 

Prior to her tenure on the Leadership Team, Sister’s ministry in education spanned more than three decades, including three years of teaching at John F. Kennedy High School and 24 years at Good Counsel Academy High School, where she also served as Director of Guidance and Principal for nine years. At Preston High School, Sr. Carol served as Dean for Administration for four years. Sister volunteered for three years for Compassion in Kentucky, while working with Habitat for Humanity. Sr. Carol also was a member of the Intercommunity Center for Justice and Peace and has a deep interest and concern for the refugee crisis.
