Sister Patricia Graham, RDC, (formerly Sr. Mary Edmund), a member of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, died peacefully on December 18, 2009. Sister Pat was born in the Bronx on May 7, 1938, the daughter of William and Ellen (Crotty) Graham. She entered the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, White Plains, on September 3, 1956 and professed her final vows on April 4, 1964. Sister Patricia attended St. Frances deChantal Elementary School and Preston High School, Bronx, NY. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Good Counsel College in 1962, the MS in education from SUNY Plattsburg, NY in 1973. Sister continued her professional development with an MS degree in Pastoral Counseling from Iona College in 1987. Sister completed her professional development with an MSW from Yeshiva University in 1995. During her years as an elementary school teacher Sister Patricia taught at Sr. Bernard's, White Plains, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Elmsford, St. Joseph's, Croton Falls, St. Frances deChantal, Bronx and St. Lawrence O'Toole, Brewster.

She served as Supportive Services Coordinator at Encore Community Center from 1984-87 until she joined Holy Family Parish in New Rochelle as a Parish minister. Beginning in 1990 she worked as an ADAPP Counselor in St. Frances de Chantal School and most recently as a Geriatric Care Manager for the Sisters of the Divine Compassion. Sister Susan Merritt, President of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, commented: "As a teacher for more than two decades and then as a counselor, pastoral minister and social worker for another two, Sister Patricia has touched the lives of an extraordinary number of people in wonderful ways." Sister Patricia is survived by her Sisters of the Divine Compassion, her sisters, Ellen Horey-Theide, Joan Fleischacker and Catherine Schoenberg and their children.
