Sr. Mary Lucille Bridgetts, RDC, (formerly known as Alice Bridgetts,) a Sister of the Divine Compassion, died peacefully on April 24, 2020.

Sr. Lucille was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1923, the daughter of Harry and Lucy (Watson) Bridgetts. She attended Good Counsel Academy Elementary School and High School in White Plains, NY. Sister received her BA in French from Good Counsel College in White Plains and her MA in French from Villanova University.

Sister began her career in education beginning at St. Frances de Chantal in the Bronx followed by Good Counsel Elementary School. In 1957 she was assigned to Preston High School where she taught until her retirement. Sister was a Master French teacher and used her skills in many areas besides teaching.

Sister Laura Donovan, President of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion said, "A strong and compassionate woman, Sr. Mary Lucille cherished her family, community and her many friends. Notable in mission was her desire to bring God's compassion to all whom she met."

Sister is survived by her Sisters of the Divine Compassion, her dear sister-in-law, Patricia Bridgetts, nephew, Kevin Bridgetts, her niece, Katherine Bridgetts and many nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews.
