For 139 years, the Sisters of the Divine Compassion (RDCs) have been the compassionate presence of God in our world – in our homes, parishes, communities and schools. So many women, men, children and families have been blessed by their relationships with the Sisters.
With this in mind, a group of “Divine Compassion Alumni” joined together to give back to the Sisters who dedicated their lives to serving so many of us. No matter how the Sisters came into our lives, we all agree that their guidance, grace and compassion helped shape who we are today, as well as who our children and grandchildren have become.
On July 2, 2025, the Sisters of the Divine Compassion Founders’ Day, friends of the RDCs will honor the Sisters for their wonderful influence on our lives by donating a gift to the Sisters. Donations can be made online at divinecompassion.org or checks can be mailed to their office.
Whether a Sister was your teacher, therapist, advocate, family member or friend, we encourage you to reflect on that Sister’s influence on your life and the memories you share, and support the RDCs in a special way!
Currently, there are 42 Sisters and their median age is 83. People have asked if the Sisters still need our financial support. The answer is YES!
The Sisters of the Divine Compassion currently have a manageable financial base; however, because compensation for the Sisters’ services has diminished due to retirement, only three Sisters are actively employed full time outside the Congregation, and the cost of housing and taking care of the Sisters continues to rise, there is a widening gap between revenue and expenses.
With your support and positive developments in their fundraising efforts, the Sisters will continue to manage the gap, so they can care for their aging Sisters and advance their mission and legacy.
No. Friends of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion are organizing this 24-hour, online fundraising campaign. We want to express our support and appreciation to the RDCs for all they have given to generations of families, parishes and communities.
The Sisters of the Divine Compassion are the beneficiaries of the Founders’ Day of Giving campaign. They approve and support our efforts on their behalf.
