Sr. Lenore’s life-long ministry in education spans 57 years.  Currently, Sister is a Title One teacher at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Elmsford.  She began her ministry in 1967 as an assistant kindergarten teacher at Good Counsel Elementary School for four years. Sister also taught first and second grades at Holy Name of Jesus School in Valhalla and St. Bernard’s in White Plains.

For over 40 years, Sr. Lenore was a second grade teacher at Good Counsel Elementary School, where she also prepared generations of second graders for the sacrament of First Holy Communion.  During the same four decades, Sr. Lenore was the dedicated sacristan at the Chapel of the Divine Compassion, and the Assistant Director of the Education Center at the College of New Rochelle for 30 years.  As an adjunct professor, Sister taught graduate students about children’s literature and methods and materials for engaging students with learning disabilities.  Sr. Lenore helped create education programs for children, ensuring appropriate material was available at all times for professor and students.

From 2018 to 2020, Sr. Lenore volunteered at Maria Fareri Child Care Division, reading stories, doing crafts and playing board games with the children being treated at the hospital. The interaction gave them a chance to laugh and have fun during a difficult time for them.

Sr. Lenore loves spending time with her Sisters, family and friends. Sister’s hobbies include photography, reading, listening to music and attending ballets. Sister enjoys word searches and creating albums and stationary from her photographs. Sr. Lenore loves spending time with her Sisters and is grateful for 60 wonderful years with them in Community.
