Christine McGee, RDC

Sister Christine McGee, RDC (Formerly, Sister Mary Christine)

Sr. Christine has a life-long connection to the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, having attended St. Frances de Chantal, Preston High School and Good Counsel College. Sr. Christine earned a Masters Degree in Theology from Manhattan College, and a certification in Special Education from Caldwell College. Now celebrating her 70th Jubilee, Sr. Christine’s dedication to her ministry in education spans over 50 years! In the Archdiocese of New York, Sister educated students in the primary grades at St. Mary’s in Katonah, St. Joseph’s in Croton Falls and St. Frances de Chantal in the Bronx for over a decade. In the Diocese of Metuchen, NJ, Sr. Christine was a teacher at Christ the King School, and in the Archdiocese of Newark, Sister was a tutor at St. Genevieve School, and a part-time tutor for IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) for non-public school services in Union County.  Sr. Christine then earned a post-masters certificate in Aging from Hunter College School of Social Work/Brookdale Center on Aging.  For over 40 years, Sr. Christine was a part time, long-term licensed care facility nursing aide in both New York and New Jersey.  Sister currently resides at Wartburg in Mt. Vernon, where she enjoys participating in the numerous activities offered there, taking walks around the beautiful campus and assi.sting other residents as needed
